Another Class Action Suit Filed Against DraftKings, FanDuel

In the wake of a probe of the Daily Fantasy Sports industry by New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, it was revealed Friday that a class-action lawsuit has been filed against DraftKings and FanDuel as well as major credit card companies and payment processors claiming the plaintiff and others are “one of thouseands of people who have wagered and lost money through FanDuel’s and DraftKing’s illegal sports gambling websites”.

The suit was filed by plaintiff Yehuda Guttman and seeks damages in the form of restitution for the past six years and an injunction permanently preventing the companies from engaging in the alleged unlawful practices going forward.

Both FanDuel and DraftKings insist their products are not forms of gambling but rather games of skill, though it was revealed on Thursday that DraftKings CEO Jason Robins did appear to admit during meeting minutes DraftKings had violated anti-gambling laws in some regards.  Robins later clarified that those minutes provided to ESPN were taken out of context.
