Brett Gardner Daily Fantasy Profile – May 9
For us here at DFS911.com, Brett Gardner presents a slightly better option than Jacoby Ellsbury going up against Wei-Yin Chen.
Like Ellsbury, Gardner is batting well of late and he’s also fared well against Chen going 5-for-15 with five RBIs, two doubles and a homerun.
Gardner is batting .357 so far this month. He’s 7-for-28 at bats with four doubles and a homer. He and Ellsbury combined for 3-for-7 in their 5-4 victory against the Orioles Friday night.
On the season, the pair have 28 percent (71-of-254) of the team's total hits, 33 percent of runs (46-of-141) and, unsurprisingly and hilariously, 91 percent of steals (20-of-22).
Ellsbury's 11 steals are tied for best in the league, while Gardner's nine (the latest coming on Friday) is good for fourth
Gardner is also being offered at a slightly better value than Ellsbury at around $3800.
Chen is 2-4 with a 5.18 ERA in 10 career starts against the Yankees, including a six-inning, two-run stint on April 13, and will be especially hungry for the victory here being that he is winless thus far. This is despite Chen having allowed a total of nine earned runs in his five starts.
