FanDuel was hardly letting up on its aggressive advertising campaign during this football season amidst a crackdown by the New York Attorney General’s office. In fact, they may have just upped the ante.
On Sunday, FanDuel began advertising the refund of entry fees. Reportedly this just applies to the very first entry fee made, though this restriction is easy to miss when first catching the commercial.
Entry fees can range from $1 to hundreds of dollars depending on the contests entered. Those with larger cash prizes and fewer participants will tend to require higher entry fees.
Clarity on the capping of these entry fee refunds was not immediately available with the promo seemingly begun on Sunday without much fanfare.
On Wednesday, FanDuel will ask a Court permission to continue servicing the residents of New York state following Attorney General Eric Schneiderman’s declaration that it and other Daily Fantasy Sports site have been engaging in illegal online gambling. Schneiderman ordered FanDuel and DraftKings to cease taking bets from New York state residents. DFS911.com will attending Wednesday’s hearing.
