Pennsylvania Latest State to Consider Daily Fantasy Sports Bill

The commonwealth of Pennsylvania is the latest state to put forward a new bill that would allow daily fantasy sports.

The bill headed up by Representative George Dunbar specifically calls for the offering of daily fantasy sports in all of the state’s land-based casinos.

House Bill 1197 was referred to the House of Committee on Gaming Oversight last week, DFS911.com can report.

A provision in the measure requires that casinos hold a license to offer contest tournaments.

“Presently most fantasy sports tournaments take place on internet sites like Fanduel,” Dunbar wrote last week in a memo seeking co-sponsors for the bill.

“My legislation will allow our casinos to hold their own fantasy tournaments within the confines of the casino upon payment of a $50,000 licensing fee.

“The rules and regulations for this activity will be determined by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.”
