When it comes to the Rangers vs. Indians series, neither of today’s two starters have had much luck against the opposing team. To make matters worse, the Texas bullpen has given up a number of runs in most of Colby Lewis’s starts.
Michael Brantley has gone 5-for-14 against Lewis with one homerun and three RBIs.
Ryan Raburn was hot in his last game against Texas and that trend is likely to continue against Lewis as he has gone 2-for-5 against him with three RBIs. Two of those hits were doubles.
Elvis Andrus is 4-for-10 against Cleveland’s Carlos Carrasco with 3 RBIs. He has hit nine in his last five games overall so don’t be fooled by an ERA under .300.
Michael Moreland is 3-for-6 against Carrasco and has hit in all of his last ten games.
Elsewhere…
Boston’s Dustin Pedroia is 11-for-35 against the Twins Phil Hughes. He has 10 RBIs against him as well.
Houston’s Colby Rasmus is 10-for-27 against Baltimore’s Ubaldo Jimenez with 7 of those extra base hits.
KC’s Mike Moustakas is 5-for 10 against Chris Young.
On the pitching front, Chris Young of the Royals has the best ERA against an opposing roster today. He’s allowed a mere 18 hits on 108 at bats.
