Thursday May 14
DFS911.com has your Giants vs. Reds series daily fantasy MLB picks for May 13.
Series: Giants vs. Reds
Tim Lincecum may be just what the doctor ordered with Joey Votto’s mini-slump having gone 5-for-14 with a homer against him, though his $3700 price does leave a bad taste in our mouths.
Overall, Lincecum has not fared well vs. San Francisco, allowing 32 hits off of 101 bats to the current Reds lineup.
Lincecum has not permitted any runs in his last two starts encompassing a total of 14 innings.
The last time he faced the Reds in 2014, Lincecum allowed eight runs in just over 4 innings. He allowed 8 the previous year as well. See a trend?
Reds starting pitcher Joey Cueto has gone 7 or more innings in all but one game this season. That May 3 start he allowed 9 hits and 5 runs, the most runs of any game he has started this season.
Last year against San Francisco, Cueto pitched 8.1 innings and permitted just four hits and two runs over that time.
Angel Pagan – He has hit in 7 of his last 10 games and presents an excellent opportunity for daily fantasy sports players Thursday having gone 4-for-7 with a triple against Cueto.
Marlon Byrd is 3-for-8 with a triple against Lincecum.
Joey Votto – See above.
Todd Frazier is 2-for-5 vs. Lincecum with three RBIs.

More Considerations:
Prince Fielder – You will want to build your roster around Fielder today. He’s batting at .336 currently and has gone 11-for-23 against the Royals Jeremy Guthrie for an average of nearly .500. He’s had four extra bases, four RBIs and a homerun over this time. He’s hit in nine of his last ten games coming into Tuesday. Fielder is a bargain at $3300.
Jose Bautista is another given going 6-for-15 vs. Houston’s Roberto Hernandez with 5 extra bases. He rested his injured shoulder on Monday. Bautista had four hits in his previous three games leading up to Monday’s break. Three of his last ten starts featured games with two hits.
Starling Marte – He has hit 5-for-12 against Aaron Harang but is priced high at $4300. A hot performance against Cole Hamels Wednesday could be enough to pull the trigger.
Elvis Andrus – Liking his price of $25K. He’s hit in 7 of his last 9 and is 9-for-25 against Jeremy Guthrie.
Friday May 15
Series: Royals vs. Yankees
KC Royals starter Chris Young has allowed just three runs in 22 innings so far this year. In this two starts of 6 and 5 innings, respectively, Young permitted just 3 hits and zero runs. Not too shabby.
Better still, he’s only allowed 16 hits on 92 at bats against the current Yankees roster. He’s been priced around $2800 but will probably be a tad higher for this one. Great secondary pitcher for your daily fantasy roster.
Even at 5-0, Michael Pineda did start off the season slow and has since lowered his ERA to 2.72 and sports an incredible 54:3 K:BB ratio. He’s in danger of a let down here.
Also Consider….
Jacoby Ellsbury – He’s hot right now and the only player on New York’s roster with a proven record against Young.
Mike Moustakas has eight hits in six of his most recent games. He also has a homerun against Pineda in 7 at bats.
Prince Fielder – Once again Fielder is in play having gone 7-for-22 against Cleveland’s Bruce Chen. That includes 2 homeruns, 3 doubles and 6 RBIs.
Adrian Beltre – The Texas Rangers third baseman is 9-for-25 against Chen with 3 homers. He has hit in eight of his last nine games. He’s had two hits in each of his last three starts coming into Wednesday night’s game. Two of those were homeruns. Solid value at $3100.
