Despite our sister site Gambling911.com being on the UNDER 9 in Sunday’s Red Sox vs. Blue Jays matchup, there are plenty of daily fantasy picks on our radar.
The pitching matchup consists of R.A Dickey vs. Clay Buchholz and both have had their problems with some of the opposing club’s top batters.
Xander Bogaerts is 7-for-14 against Dickey with 4 RBIs. He went 1-for-3 in his last appearance against Dickey.
David Ortiz’s ERA has hovered around the .240 mark of late. He has hit in 9 of his last 10 games, making Ortiz a terrific value Sunday. Best part of all, he’s priced around $3300. He’s 8-for-17 against Dickey. That includes 7 RBIs and 2 homers. Odds are good he’ll have at least one hit here.
The good news for Buchholz is that Ryan Goins hasn’t had any hits against Boston in this series thus far despite 7 at bats.
The bad news for Buchholz is that the Blue Jays leftie has gone 7-for-14 against him. That includes one double, one triple and four RBIs.
Russell Martin went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Friday’s 7-0 victory over the Red Sox. He had one hit on Saturday with an RBI. Martin will come into this game on a 7-game hitting streak. Martin has enjoyed success against Buchholz, going 5-for-16 at bats with 7 RBIs.
Josh Donaldson priced at $3300 is another good play for today. He’s batting at .320 though he has had limited experience against Buchholz, which will likely scare off some daily fantasy players. He does have one hit, including an RBI, out of four at bats facing Buchholz.
