With the Preakness Stakes going off this weekend, we here at DFS911.com wondered if there was such a thing as daily fantasy horse racing. Sure enough, there is.
Equus Interactive Racetrack Warriors has earlier this month announced an agreement with the Jockey’s Guild and Permantly Disabled Jockeys Fund (PDJF) to introduce a new fantasy draft game to the market called “Jockey Draft”. The site opened for business May 8.
Jockey Draft offers a wide variety of daily games and tracks. Whether you’re qualifying for the NHC, creating your own games, or drafting a team of Jockeys, the site claims to have your fantasy gaming experience covered from the starting gate to the finish line! And there is no need to wait around for the big races like the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, Belmont Stakes and Breeders Cup (though these will certainly attract a fair share of fantasy enthusiasts). Horse races take place every single day of the year.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund and the Jockeys’ Guild.
“We are thrilled to partner with Equus Interactive in this new venture,” said Jockeys’ Guild national manager Terry Meyocks. “I am sure racing fans across the country will enjoy playing and know that their participation benefits the PDJF as well as allow the Jockeys’ Guild to continue to provide necessary benefits for our members.”
“The PDJF is very excited to be a partner in the launching of this new fantasy game,” said PDJF executive director Nancy LaSala. “This is a great opportunity to raise funds for the PDJF.”
