DFS911.com has your daily fantasy sports MLB picks and previews for May 15 and beyond.
Friday May 15
Series: Royals vs. Yankees
KC Royals starter Chris Young has allowed just three runs in 22 innings so far this year. In this two starts of 6 and 5 innings, respectively, Young permitted just 3 hits and zero runs. Not too shabby.
Better still, he’s only allowed 16 hits on 92 at bats against the current Yankees roster. He’s been priced around $2800 but will probably be a tad higher for this one. Great secondary pitcher for your daily fantasy roster.
Even at 5-0, Michael Pineda did start off the season slow and has since lowered his ERA to 2.72 and sports an incredible 54:3 K:BB ratio. He’s in danger of a let down here.
Series: Angels vs. Orioles
Angels RH Jered Weaver (1-4, 4.98 ERA) vs. Orioles LH Wei-Yin Chen (1-1, 2.52)
Weaver has struggled on the road this season and he also just happens to be coming off an impressive win, his first complete game since last May. He has allowed no less than six hits in all four of his road starts this season.
Weaver is 7-4 with a 3.46 ERA in 12 all-time starts against Baltimore. Adam Jones (7-for-23, two homers) and Delmon Young (7-for-18) have enjoyed success against Weaver for all you daily fantasy enthusiasts out there.
Also Consider….
Jacoby Ellsbury – He’s hot right now and the only player on New York’s roster with a proven record against Young.
Mike Moustakas has eight hits in six of his most recent games. He also has a homerun against Pineda in 7 at bats.
Prince Fielder – Once again Fielder is in play having gone 7-for-22 against Cleveland’s Bruce Chen. That includes 2 homeruns, 3 doubles and 6 RBIs.
Adrian Beltre – The Texas Rangers third baseman is 9-for-25 against Chen with 3 homers. He has hit in eight of his last nine games. He’s had two hits in each of his last three starts coming into Wednesday night’s game. Two of those were homeruns. Solid value at $3100.
Saturday May 16
Adrian Beltre – He should really be considered for your roster today having hit 9-for-25 against Bruce Chen with three homers.
Curtis Granderson is 8-for-17 with with 5 RBIs against Kyle Lohse. He just hit 2-for-5 in his Thursday game against the Cubs. He’s hit in 7 of his last 10.
Nelson Cruz is 5-for-12 against Clay Buchholz with 3 RBIs. Cruz has hit in 9 of his last 10 games. He’s priced at $5000 and is still considered one of the biggest steals in fantasy drafts. But can he continue this type of momentum. Against Buccholz we anticipate seeing further damage.
Sunday May 17
Series: White Sox vs. Athletics
Chicago’s Jeff Samardzija faces off against Oakland’s Scott Kazmir.
Kazmir has allowed .318 hitting when facing this current White Sox roster. They are 28-for-88 against him with 11 extra bases secured.
Emilio Bonifacio has started to come alive in recent games though he is currently sporting well under a .300 ERA. He’s gone 4-for-8 against Kazmir and is priced at just $2200 so there is definitely some value to be had today.
Melky Cabrera is hitting over .350 against Kazmir and averaging .241 recently. He’s priced at $2500 and is doable today but has not been gangbusters of late either. He does have two extra bases in hitting against Kazmir.
Alexei Ramirez is your man today though priced at just $2500. He’s hit in all eight of his last games as of Friday and is 6-for-9 against Kazmir with four RBIs and a homer.
Samardzija, returning from a five-game suspension, allowed seven runs (five earned) on eight hits in six innings of a no-decision against the Brewers on Monday.
He’s allowed at least 6 hits in all seven of his starts this season.

Kazmir the other night pitched 6 innings and allowed just two runs. Then the A’s relievers helped Boston to score another three. All but one of Kazmir’s last 7 starts have resulted in nine runs or more. In fact, over his last five games, Oakland relievers tacked on at least two additional runs after Kazmir departed.
Four of the last seven games Samardzija has started have ended with scores totaling nine or more.
