Max Steinberg, a fixture on the Daily Fantasy Sports circuit, has made it to the World Series of Poker coveted November Nine final table. Steinberg is a perfect example of just how the poker and Daily Fantasy Sports sectors mesh.
Steinberg has won the Victiv Bowl and countless MLB Monster wins. He has also qualified for the FanDuel Playboy Baseball Championship. More importantly, it was DraftKings, a WSOP sponsor, that allowed Steinberg to win his Main Event entry.
With over $2 million in career live poker wins to his name prior to this week, Steinberg is hoping to tack on a few million dollars more to that total in the World Series of Poker Final. He is among the last nine standing in a field of 6,420 participants vying for the $7,680,021 grand prize.
The 27-year-old from Vegas is the only player at this final table who already has a WSOP bracelet on his poker resume. He won a $1000 No-Limit Holdem event back in 2012.
