Demand is High for 2nd Daily Fantasy Sports Expo in Miami Beach

Over 40 speakers have already committed to the 2nd ever Daily Fantasy Sports Expo to be held once again in Miami Beach March 3-4, 2016.

“I am completely taken aback by the amount of interest in this conference, considering everything that has been transpiring iwithin the industry,’ remarked conference organizer Marc Lesnick.

“A lot of the interest is coming from the gaming sector,” remarked Chris Costigan, Publisher of DFS911.com.  “Many see the doors opening now that both FanDuel and Draftkings have been reigned in a bit.  All have large data bases of customers to take full advantage of DFS software platforms.”

DraftKings and FanDuel are currently embroiled in a pricey legal battle to continue operating in the state of New York after Attorney General Eric Schneiderman demanded they cease operating there.  Schneiderman accuses DraftKings and FanDuel of running illegal gambling enterprises.  Lawyers for both companies insist Daily Fantasy Sports is a “game of skill” and not “chance”.

A New York Superior Judge ruled against the two DFS firms on Friday.  A temporary restraining order was obtained granting both companies permission to operate in the state for another 30 days.

“Gambling will not be a dirty word at this conference,” Lesnick said, noting that there was much resistance to the mention of gambling as it relates to Daily Fantasy Sports from a handful of members of the Fantasy Sports Trade Association.

Since that time the FSTA has been subpoenaed by both the New York and Florida Attorney Generals.
